Don’t have a digital camera? No worries. This class will teach you how to turn any flatbed scanner into an amazing digital camera verging on a wide field microscope. Don’t like setting up light stands, lights and other equipment to photograph flowers or other still life subjects? This is the perfect class for you- instant gratification! The use of flatbed scanners is a unique approach to digital photography, quickly yielding beautiful soft, even lighting that cannot easily be duplicated with a camera. You will scan found natural history objects in the museum’s collections, or that you bring from home, and then adjust these images in Photoshop to ready them for printing. Please bring a USB thumb drive and get ready to have some fun. We’ll be using a high end Epson graphic arts scanner in class.
