This class is a further exploration of the joy of outdoor sketching with pen & ink. The class will cover the use of brushed ink washes to enhance the 3-dimensional quality of a line drawing. The beautiful Sonoran Desert will be your subject matter, and you will spend time practicing in the classroom and outside on the Desert Museum grounds (plein air). The focus the will be on the techniques of line drawing, stippling, and contour drawing. Learn the art of combining these techniques with ink washes to enhance the 3-dimensional quality of your work. UV hats, sunscreen, and an extra layer of clothing for possible colder weather are recommended.
