This class will introduce you to the basics of acrylic painting, including how to mix colors, choices of brushes and painting surfaces, as well as introducing you to the use of mediums that mix with acrylics to achieve a variety of painting techniques.  Because they are thinned with water, acrylics are also quick drying. Learn to use the fast-drying time to your advantage. Some of the other ‘how-to’ topics that will be covered are how-to start a painting, from blocking in major shapes, to tips on layering, glazing, as well as when to use thin-transparent vs.  thick-opaque paint as you develop a finished painting. Bring an 8x10” photo to work from, preferably one of your own or one you’ve been given permission to use. The instructor will also provide photos for participants to use, as well as demonstrations throughout.
